Who We Are

We stumbled on Treasure Hunt entirely by accident.

It started with a plaintive wail by a frustrated entrepreneur talking to his business partner:

I don’t want to make these phone calls today! I can’t do it!

Can’t we just, I don’t know . . . go on a Treasure Hunt instead??!!

And so Treasure Hunt was born.

We started getting curious right away:

  • How would we run a business if we were on a Treasure Hunt? What would we be doing?
  • If I go on a date like a Treasure Hunt, what would that be like?
  • If I’m a Treasure Hunter, what happens when I’m stuck in the swamp, or struggling through the muck of life?
  • How do Treasure Hunters think about time, movement, success and failure, money, play . . .
  • Do Treasure Hunters really have much more fun in life? Can I be one too?

We’ve discovered a lot of amazing treasures in the past six years. We’ve built a powerful foundation built on the latest scientific understanding of how information flows in the universe, how the brain functions, and how complex patterns evolve. We study neuroscience, linguistics, biology, potato chips, cows and Isaac Newton.

From humble beginnings of one man meeting people in coffee shops, we’ve developed a growing and loyal following of Treasure Hunters around the globe.

We invite you to come get curious, to play with us. To let us share with you some of the treasures we’ve found. And to celebrate with you the treasures waiting in your future.

Welcome to Treasure Hunt! I didn’t know it when I graduated college twenty-plus years ago, but I set out to explore the worlds of organizational and personal development. From working with troubled teens to shifting organizational cultures with tens of thousands of people, to coaching and guiding leaders and business owners coast to coast, it’s been an incredible adventure and an amazing opportunity to learn, grow and discover just how cool life is when you’re on a Treasure Hunt.

Where am I hunting treasures?
All over. I recently left Seattle, my stable, comfortable home of almost fifteen years, for a grand adventure. Six weeks on beautiful Whidbey Island, Washington, getting into a new rhythm of life. Off to a month in New England visiting family and friends. July and August in Washington DC and on the shore of a lake in Michigan with Paul and Carol. September is a mystery except for a week in Calgary. Off to Europe and Israel in October. And back to the mountains outside of Seattle in time for ski season.

What treasures am I hunting?
So many! Tens of thousands of people discovering Treasure Hunt. Amazing experiences with family friends, and soon-to-be-friends. Exploring the world. Health and fitness. Skiing off a 40-foot cliff (and nailing the landing). There’s a particular Audi I have my eyes on. Falling (and staying falling) in love. . . .

And what do I really, really, really want?
Everyone playing and totally immersed in life.

And I mean everyone. All seven billion and counting. Exploring, learning, growing through all of life as is our birthright. Experiencing life as their life. Moving through time in the way that’s easiest and most natural for each person. It starts with me, and it starts with you!
