I have to admit to some professional jealousy: despite the recommendations of countless people, and hearing oh, you’ll love it, he’s thinking just what you are!, I couldn’t bring myself to read theĀ 4-Hour Work Week.

Until tonight. I finally started in on it, and was amazed at how thoughtful Tim Ferriss is, how heartfelt, and how, well, really, really smart.
(That he’s a great writer and storyteller doesn’t hurt either!)
And people are right! Not only am I enjoying the book immensely (devouring the first of four sections in one sitting), Tim absolutely is a master Treasure Hunter. In many ways, he’s been doing a better job of Treasure Hunting than I have!
So I’m taking some of Tim’s advice (and with the slightest of tweaks it become a Treasure Hunt). It didn’t take long to come up with the treasures I’m hunting, what I want to have, to be and to do three- and six-months from now.
So will no further ado, here’s my treasure hunt:
What I want to have:
What I want to be:
What I want to be doing:
What I want to have:
- A new Mac laptop (assuming they’ve come out with a multi-touch screen that’s been rumoured)
- A great backpack
What I want to be:
What I want to be doing:
- In the middle of a month-long European and Mediterranean adventure, visiting family and old friends, making new friends along the way
- Creating the coolest of cool new material for Treasure Hunt while on the road
- Taking pictures, pictures and more pictures
- Moving, moving, moving! Travel as a fitness plan.
This is a big list for me! So thank you Tim for reminding me that yes, I’ve been on a Treasure Hunt and no, I’ve forgotten this one critical piece for myself.
